Product Description
Lou Holtz, back in 1986, decided that his Notre Dame football players needed a bit of inspiration as they took to the field. So, borrowing a slogan from his friend and fellow coach, Gerry Faust, Holtz had a sign crafted that read, "Play Like a Champion Today." The sign, bright gold with dark blue lettering, was positioned above a stairway outside the Notre Dame locker room, and beneath another, larger sign listing all of the Fighting Irish's national championships. And soon a tradition emerged: players tapped the "Play Like a Champion Today" sign for luck on the way to the field. This product is a framed 16x20 color photograph of the two signs in the stairway outside the Notre Dame locker room, and it comes double-matted with a nameplate detailing the slogan's history.
